News flash just in at ESPN: 89 year old WDI vet Boynie Stein sank his 2nd ever Hole in One, while playing in a non- sanctioned WDI event today at MacDill AFB. The shot was witnessed by Commissioner Kapalua, who just happened to be his playing partner. Some witnesses say, they thought they saw a loping Kapalua, get to the green first and accidentally foot wedge the ball into the hole. Commish violently disagrees, calling witness Chick Garcia….unreliable, irrational and very irritating! Overhead jet noise , blocked out the jubilant cheers from Dr Stein, who stated that this is a sign from heaven. And that maybe his game is on the rise? NOT!!! After all , he finished ace, bogey and birdie ( 2 under) at the tough South course ( for a sizzling 92)
The shot/hole was a 163 yard par 3 played into a 25 mph wind….young Boynie handled the wind and heckling from his opponents with a marvelously played hook driver that barely got off the ground. Some say it was reminiscent of a worm burner….while Base soldiers likened it to a drone laser. Bernie said he would donate the winnings from his game today, especially the wooden aero plane trophy 🏆 given to him at a ceremony following the match to the Ukraine people!! What a guy! More later.
